A fascinating U.S. National Park Service site in Bridgeport, Alabama (just across the Tennessee line from Marion County), preserving one of the most complete archaeological records of prehistoric human life in the Southeast. A hidden gem rich in history and natural beauty!

This 310-acre monument features a large limestone cave shelter that was continuously inhabited for over 10,000 years — from Paleo-Indians around 10,000 B.C. to as recently as the 1600s. It offers a unique window into ancient Native American history, tools, and daily life.
