A historic veterans’ organization and community hub located at 300 Elm Avenue in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. Housed in a striking Egyptian Revival-style building completed in 1926, the Post was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. It stands as a proud landmark that blends rich history with ongoing service to veterans and the Marion County community.

Mission and Activities: As part of The American Legion, Post 62 is dedicated to supporting U.S. veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. The post promotes patriotism, provides camaraderie for members (with over 70 strong), and hosts welcoming community events.

Regular activities include:

• Veterans Day and Independence Day (Fourth of July) celebrations.
• Honors and recognitions for local veterans.
• Pancake breakfasts and other open public gatherings.
• Patriotic programs tied to national milestones, such as America’s 250th anniversary.

The beautifully renovated facility features an event hall available for rentals (weddings, receptions, parties, performances, concerts, and seminars), making it a versatile venue for the community. Recent upgrades include a remodeled basement, kids’ room, and updated amenities, all funded through rentals and membership dues.

Joining or Connecting: Whether you’re a veteran looking for fellowship and support or a community member wanting to participate in patriotic events, Marion Post 62 welcomes you. Monthly meetings are for members, but many events are open to the public.
